Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups Cell

SOCIO ECONOMIC DISADVANTAGED GROUPS (SEDG) CELL
Promoting Inclusivity, Equality, and Academic Excellence

The College is deeply committed to establishing an inclusive and accessible educational environment through its Socio-Economic Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell. We strive to build a campus ecosystem where every student receives equal opportunities to excel and progress, completely independent of their social or economic background.

The core objective of this cell is to integrate students into the mainstream who might otherwise lag behind in their academic journey due to financial constraints, geographical isolation, or deeply entrenched social barriers. We firmly believe that talent is never bound by the availability of resources, and we stand fully prepared to give the right direction to the aspirations and dreams of every single student.

Key Objectives

·         Ensuring Equal Opportunities: Providing a secure, welcoming, compassionate, and discrimination-free environment on campus for students belonging to socially and economically marginalized sections.

·         Financial Assistance & Guidance: Creating awareness among students regarding various Central and State Government scholarships, freeships, and other institutional financial aid programs, alongside providing technical end-to-end support throughout the application process.

·         Capacity Building (Skill Development): Organizing specialized workshops, bootcamps, and professional mentorship sessions designed to enhance students' self-confidence, communication skills, and overall employability.

Major Activities and Initiatives

1.     Scholarship Helpdesk: Providing timely information regarding all Post-Matric and other scholarship schemes offered by governmental and non-governmental organizations, accompanied by hands-on technical assistance for error-free digital applications.

2.     Mentorship & Counseling: Offering personalized, individual guidance by experienced faculty mentors for students who feel a lack of direction in their academic performance or career progression.

3.     Skill Development Programs: Conducting free technical and interpersonal sessions including computer literacy, English-speaking modules, and strategic preparation guidance for competitive examinations.
